Heads up, Beltway commuters: Lanes on the inner loop of the Capital Beltway near Annapolis Road will close Friday afternoon for emergency repairs, Maryland highway officials said.
The lanes will be closed until after midnight on Saturday.
Delays are expected to be heavy during the Friday afternoon rush hour. Highway officials say commuters should avoid the span during the repairs.
Crews will make emergency repairs to a steel plate on a bridge above an Amtrak railroad crossing, where a large pothole has formed.
