Inmate Accused of Trying to Put Contract on Ex-Girlfriend's Fiance

Police tipped to alleged murder-for-hire plot in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. -- A Frederick County jail inmate hatched a murder-for-hire scheme while behind bars, according to police in Frederick.

William Ruble, 30, was charged with one count of solicitation for murder for allegedly offering an acquaintance money to kill his former girlfriend's fiance.

The acquaintance contacted police instead, and no one was hurt, Detective Sgt. Bruce DeGrange said.

Ruble remains in jail, where he was being held for allegedly violating a protective order.
