How to Track Area Snowplows Online

Crews were pretreating roads around the D.C. area Monday, ahead of a late-season storm that is expected to dump up to several inches of snow on the region.

Snow is expected to begin falling between 8 and 10 p.m. Monday and will continue to fall at a steady pace overnight. The D.C. metro area could see between 1 and 3 inches of snow, with 6 to 10 inches possible north and west of the area.

After the snow falls, you can track clean-up efforts from the comfort of your home.

Using VDOT's Snow Plow Tracker, you can see in real time when the trucks are clearing your neighborhood.

In the District, there's a "Snow Response Reporting System." While is isn't a live GPS tracker, it does update frequently.
