Join Hiring Our Heroes Friday, before the 2015 NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo, for a job fair for veterans, active duty service members and military spouses.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with an employment workshop presented by GE, where pre-registered participants will have a one-on-one mentoring session with one of GE's own veteran employees.
Mentoring sessions will focus on resume building, resume writing and interviewing techniques for veteran job seekers, active duty service members and military spouses.
Those interested in attending the employment workshop must register online prior to the event.
Then, a free job fair for veterans, active duty service members and military spouses will begin at 10 a.m. The job fair will end at 1 p.m.
Job-seekers are encouraged to register online before the event, but can also register in person at the fair. Veterans and service members must have proof of service ready to display at the registration table.
NBC4 is proud to partner with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities. As of Oct. 31, Hiring Our Heroes has helped 369,000 participants find employment.
