Robots, all designed and operated by high school students, are battling it out in a competition called "aerial assist."
The goal is to collect and toss a 2-foot diameter exercise ball through goals.
More than 1,200 high school students, including many from our area, are involved in the games at George Mason University.
Competing makes them eligible for scholarships.
The public is invited to watch the free competitions and finals Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Patriot Center.
