Severe thunderstorms in the D.C. area prompted several storm and flood warnings Tuesday evening.
Flood warnings are in effect for Stafford County and Fredericksburg, Virginia, until 11:30 p.m.
The atmosphere had so much moisture, the storms produced a lot of rain, lightning and hail.
Trees toppled down on houses and took down power lines throughout the region. Water came through the ceiling at L'Enfant Plaza Metro station.
Several thousand Pepco customers in D.C. and Maryland lost power.
Temperatures reached the mid-90s earlier Tuesday.
The same pattern is set to repeat Wednesday, with temperatures in the mid-90s and a chance of afternoon storms. The highest chance of storms this week is Thursday, with a 70% chance.
