WASHINGTON -- City health officials want to find a teenager reported to have handled a rabid raccoon on Oct. 12, according to the D.C. Department of Health.
The rabid, injured raccoon was found in the 700 block of Kennedy Street in Northwest.
A Hispanic boy with a gold-outlined front tooth was seen holding the raccoon.
Anyone with information about the teen should call the animal control hot line at 202-576-6664.
Health officials advise residents to avoid all wildlife, not handling or feeding wild animals and not unintentionally attracting them with open garbage cans, outdoor grills or litter.
