Hardy Rec Center Back in Business

No more inconvience for the people who rely on the center

When Mother Nature's winds blew part of the roof off the Hardy Recreation Center on Q Street last month, all the kids, parents and general public who rely on the center had to rearrange their plans as the center closed for repairs.

Parents with kids at Hardy's Cooperative Playschool Program had to get them to the Volta Park Rec Center.  Budding piano players made the trek to the Chevy Chase Community Center just to get a chance to tickle the ivories.  And the Palisades Community Center took over all the other programs.

But there's good news to report. All is back to normal at the Hardy Rec Center.

The team at D.C.'s Department of Parks and Recreation fixed the roof ahead of time.

All programs have returned. No more inconvience and schedule shuffling for the residents of Ward 3.
