‘Hamilton' Coming to Kennedy Center for 2017-2018 Season

The Tony-nominated musical "Hamilton" is coming to the Kennedy Center next year, but getting tickets could be tricky.

The national tour of "Hamilton" will be a part of the 2017-2018 season, the Kennedy Center announced Tuesday. But information about how to get group or individual tickets isn't available just yet.

The Kennedy Center says the best way to guarantee you'll get to see "Hamilton" is to buy a season subscription for 2016-2017 season and renew the subscription the following year. Renewing subscribers are always first in line for the following year's subscription, Stephanie Stohler, a spokeswoman for the Kennedy Center, said.

The 2017-2018 season subscription includes tickets to "Hamilton."

"It's unusual for us to announce a show this far in advance, but we're just so excited," Stohler said.

Subscriptions for the 2016-2017 season will go on sale May 18 at 10 a.m. Prices for the drama series start at $120; the lowest price for the Broadway series is $500.

"Hamilton," which centers around the life of founding father Alexander Hamilton, made history earlier this month when it earned a record 16 Tony nominations and has also won a Pulitzer Prize for drama.
