GOP Fundraiser Faces 46 Months After Sentencing for Child Porn Charges

A well-known GOP fundraiser was sentenced to 46 months in prison for possession of child pornography Monday.

Michael Centanni, 49, pleaded guilty to the charge in January. Centanni was in possession of more than 3,000 images and 267 videos depicting child pornography when he was arrested in October, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for D.C.

Centanni has been in custody since his arrest. He will be placed on 10 years of supervised release following the completion of his sentence.

Prior to his arrest, Centanni worked as a Chief Operating Officer with Base Connect, a company that specializes with conservative, direct-mail fundraising.

Base Connect has raised millions in campaign funds for conservative candidates and groups. It has also co-sponsored the well-known Conservative Political Action Committee, or CPAC.
