Good Night, Don’t Let the Bed Bugs Bite

Washington is among the top 10 bed bug cities

Washington has the dubious distinction of being one of the top cities in the nation when it comes to bed bugs.  Washington came in at No. 9.  New York came in at No. 1 followed by Philadelphia and Detroit.

The list was compiled by Terminix -- the pest control company. They made the determination by the number of calls they got per city to put a stop to the nasty little bugs.

Bedbugs are found in mattresses, furniture and clothing. They feed off animal and human blood.  Scientists say they are showing up on a scale not seen since World War II.

They're reportedly spreading because of the rise in international travel.  And because certain chemicals have been banned that were previously used to get rid of bed bugs.
