Yes, it's super chilly outside, but D.C.'s famed cherry blossoms finally hit peak bloom Thursday!
It's been a wild ride. Their expected peak bloom dates were pushed back twice due to cold temps -- and then, earlier this week, they were actually bumped up.

"Mom Nature put us through the wringer this year - roller coaster temps, wind storms, late season snow - but she always comes through!" The National Park Service (NPS) posted early Thursday afternoon. "Best viewing of the Yoshino trees will be for the next 4-7 days, but under ideal conditions they can hold their blossoms for up to two weeks."
Peak bloom is defined as when at least 70 percent of the Yoshino cherry trees around the Tidal Basin are blossoming.
Get out and see those blooms while you can... even if you need to wear a down jacket.
