Gerber HQ to Move to Arlington, Create 150 Jobs

Gerber will move its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to Arlington, Virginia, and create 150 new jobs, the company and the state's governor announced Monday.

The baby food company is set to move in to office space its parent company, Nestle, has at 1812 N. Moore St., in the Rosslyn area.

"Gaining the headquarters of the iconic Gerber brand is an important win for Arlington County and the Commonwealth," Esther Lee, the state's secretary of commerce and trade, said in a statement.

Gov. Ralph Northam approved a state grant of more than $862,000 to assist the county with the project. Also, the company is eligible to receive a tax credit for creating jobs.

The company said the transition would begin in January 2019. The move will not affect manufacturing locations, but would include jobs in marketing, finance and human resources, among others.
