Gas Prices Sliding in Time for Holiday

Weak economy means cheaper gas

Good news if you're getting ready to drive to a Thanksgiving destination this week.

Brand new numbers in Monday morning show gas prices are down.

Analysts say weak economic conditions and fewer daylight hours have contributed to the drop.

AAA says overnight, prices in the District dropped a penny to an average $3.53 a gallon.
In Maryland, prices remain at $3.31.

Virginia drivers are paying about $3.25 a gallon.
In West Virginia, the average fell almost a penny to $3.44.

While those prices are looking better compared to recent highs, prices are over half-a-dollar more than last year.  In November of 2010, the average gallon of regular in D.C. sold for $2.99.
