Fundraiser Seeks to Help Man Who Lost Son, Girlfriend in Crash

A family lost a mother and a son in an early March crash in Forestville, Maryland, and a father was left to prepare for two funerals.

Ebony Lyons, 23, and Terion Henderson, 2, were killed in a two-vehicle collision on March 9 at the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Forestville Road. Authorities said Lyons died at the scene, and Terion died later at the hospital.

T.J. Henderson, the father of Terion and boyfriend to Lyons, said preparing their funerals has been extraordinarily difficult.

“I didn't expect them to be gone so fast,” he said. “I know she's gone. I wanted a piece of her left to be connected in some way. They told me he wouldn't make it, and my world ended.”

T.J. Henderson said the caskets were donated, and he is grateful for the support. He works part-time at Unity Towing in Springfield, Virginia.

As a family-oriented business, they immediately set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.

“(Their deaths) destroyed our office. We were all in tears over him,” said Bethany Ferrell, general manager of Unity Towing. “He’s always had the sweetest disposition, so to see him struggle, it's heartbreaking.”
