Flood waters swept through the streets of Old Town Alexandria on Sunday.
On and around King Street, local businesses put out sand bags, and people out trying to enjoy the day had to hop over puddles just to stay dry. Despite recommendations to never drive through standing water, some drivers navigated the waters in their vehicles anyway.
Crews on the scene say the water was left over from last week's rain-snow mix.
Coastal flood warnings are in effect for parts of Northern Virginia, so that could mean more of a mess in that part of town.
