Firefighters found burning clothing on a sofa Tuesday after they were called to a fire at a George Washington University dorm.
D.C. Fire and EMS units were called to the 1100 block of New Hampshire Ave. NW shortly before 12 p.m. for the report of a fire in the apartment-style dorm.
Crews found a small fire in a fourth-floor apartment, where clothes on a sofa were burning. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
The building was evacuated during the fire. This dorm is located slightly north of the main GW campus, about a block and a half northeast of Washington Circle.
