Georgetown Fire Leaves Firefighter With Minor Injuries; Dramatic Video Shows Flames

A D.C. firefighter has minor injuries after a fire in Georgetown early Friday, officials say. 

Dramatic video footage from a viewer shows flames shooting from the upper floors of the building.

The blaze broke out on the second floor of a commercial building on the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW, just north of M Street NW, the D.C. fire department said. It then spread to other areas. 

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control by 7:30 a.m. 

One firefighter was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. No one else was hurt. 

The fire appears to have occurred above The Goorin Bros. Hat Shop at 1214 Wisconsin Ave. NW. It's located between the Mexican restaurant El Centro D.F. and an Abercrombie & Fitch store. It's on the same block as an Apple store.

The D.C. fire department did not immediately provide information about the cause of the fire. 

The Goorin Bros. Hat Shop did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
