Even with the challenges brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, new recruits are stepping up to join the profession.
Jordyn Goddard, a newly minted fire fighter cadet for Fairfax County, not only has a history of service, but also a unique hobby.

Goddard is excited to begin working as a firefighter, even in such trying times. "I mean my job, and our job, here is to help people in their times of need and that's what we're here to do," Goddard says.
