Fire Consumes Home in Fairfax County

An enormous fire engulfed a large home in Fairfax County, Virginia, Friday night.

Video from Chopper4 shows bright orange flames shooting through the roof of the home on Clarks Branch Road in the Great Falls area.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said there was a heavy fire showing from the home's garage when firefighters first responded to the three-story home about 9:30 p.m.

Less than an hour later, the fire had spread to the house and crews could no longer fight the fire from the inside.

By 11 p.m., it appeared the roof had mostly collapsed on the backside of the home and the garage was destroyed.

Fire officials said the home was evacuated.
