Family Found Safe After Fire Destroys Maryland Home

Fire officials say a family who was unaccounted for after a serious fire has been found safe.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 12500 block of White Drive at about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames. The heavy flames caused the roof to partially collapse. 

Firefighters saw two cars in the home's driveway, but they were unable to locate the family of four for several hours. Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Fire Department, says the family is out of town. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
