Today loved ones gathered to say goodbye to Wynetta Wright and her baby daughter Jaylin.
A wake and funeral services were held for the pair Friday morning in Southeast Washington, a week after they were found dead in a park in Prince George's County.
The 20-year-old mother laid to rest with her one-year-old daughter in her arms.
The service was attended by hundreds of mourners, including family, friends and a large contingent of law enforcement.
"I dont know the individual but it touched my heart so bad until I just had to come to show my support," said Elwin Smith.
Many mourners were from the Prince George's County Sheriff's Department. Wynetta Wright had been a member of its Sheriff's Explorer Program and wanted to be a deputy.
Police believe that Wright and baby Jaylin were killed by the man believed to be Jaylin's father.

Richmond Phillips, 39, was a member of the Metropolitan Police Department, working as a vice detective. Police say that Phillips lured the mother and daughter to Oxon Run Park on the eve of a court hearing and paternity test.
Police believe that Phillips shot Wright, and left the baby in a car nearby, where she died of heat exposure.
He faces first and second degree murder charges in Wright's death, and manslaughter charges in the death of baby Jaylin. He is being held without bond and is expected to be in court for a hearing July 1.
