Fenty Lets Obama Into Public School to Shoot Hoops

WASHINGTON -- President-elect Barack Obama took time out from his hectic schedule to play basketball Sunday evening, WTOP reported.

Obama motorcaded over to the Marie Reed Learning Center in Northwest at about 5:15 p.m. D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty confirmed that he had school officials open the school for Obama.

The president-elect apparently joined a pickup game set up by one of his staffers and including some of the staffer's friends. It's unknown if Fenty ran with Obama.

This excursion came a day after Fenty and Obama made a very public appearance at Ben's Chili Bowl.
