Federal Worker Sentenced for Upskirting Photos of NASA Coworker

A federal worker who admitted secretly taking illicit images of a female colleague at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center will avoid prison time.

Juan Pablo Cortes Santos pleaded guilty to a federal charge of video voyeurism. A judge sentenced him to two years of probation and mental health treatment. If he follows that sentence, there would be no prison time.

According to an affidavit from a federal agent, Cortes Santos used a camera disguised a pen to secretly take illicit images of a female colleague. It happened inside an administrative office on the NASA Goddard campus in Greenbelt, Maryland.

The photos captured images inside the clothing of the victim, according to the affidavit from federal agents.

“(The victim) was seated at the head of the table and Cortes was seated perpendicular to her right holding the recorder pen against his leg with the lens pointed toward the victim,” court filings from prosecutors said.
