FBI: Package at D.C. Emergency Office Not a Threat

A package that prompted the evacuation of D.C.'s Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency is not a threat and is not related to letters that ignited in Maryland and D.C. last week.

The package was found Monday afternoon in the agency's headquarters in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in southeast Washington, agency spokeswoman Robyn Johnson said. A bomb squad went to the scene.

The package is not a threat and not related to the letters that ignited at Maryland state buildings and a D.C. postal facility last week, FBI spokesman Rich Wolf said.
