A former staffer of a congressional delegate from the U.S. Virgin Islands has been sentenced in connection with the theft and circulation of nude videos and pictures of the delegate and her husband.
According to WTOP, Dorene Browne-Louis, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was sentenced Monday in District Court in D.C. to two years of supervised probation and ordered to pay a fine.
She and then-co-worker Juan McCullum pleaded guilty to federal cyber-related charges in January.
Documents say Browne-Louis was working in the office of Delegate Stacey Plaskett in 2016 when McCullum told her he'd taken the images off Plaskett's smartphone.
Documents say Browne-Louis helped in sending the images to political leaders in an effort to harm Plaskett's re-election campaign. Browne-Louis is accused of sending at least one of the images to a person who worked for a challenger.
