Everything's OK: Thin Mints Are Coming to DMV

Don't panic: Despite terrifying talk of a nationwide Girl Scout cookie shortage, Thin Mint fiends in the D.C. area have nothing to fear.

The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital reassures cookie fans in the D.C. area that Thin Mint orders here are running on schedule. Girl Scout cookie booths will be open from Friday until March 22.

The Girl Scouts first sold cookies in 1917. Today, the organization sells 200 million boxes a year.

About 6 percent of 112 Girl Scouts USA councils are affected by a back order of Thin Mints this year from one of the companies that produces them.

Those in the D.C. area can use the handy Girl Scout Cookie Finder App to get their hands on a precious box.
