An 89-year-old man died after a tree fell on him in Maryland Monday evening, police said.
Harry Swan of Finksburg, Maryland, had been in his driveway at the 2900 block of Bloom Road when high winds caused the tree to fall, trapping him underneath, the Carroll County Sheriff's Office said.
Police and emergency services were called around 6:24 p.m. When they arrived, they moved the tree and tried to save the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The body was taken to the Medical Examiner's Office in Baltimore for further investigation.
