Dupont Circle Metro Station Closed Temporarily Due to Escalator Outage

Other entrance closed for escalator replacement

The Dupont Circle Metro Station was closed briefly Wednesday evening when the escalators went out at the only entrance that has working escalators -- usually.

The station’s south entrance was closed last week and will remain closed for several months for escalator replacements.

When the other entrance’s escalators went out of order Wednesday, Metro had to close the station temporarily. Riders were told they could use the nearby Farragut North Metro Station instead.

Dupont Circle station reopened by 6:30 p.m.
