Driver Rescued After Crashing Over Wall at Virginia Nursing Home

"I'm sorry," the driver could be heard saying in a shaky voice

A woman crashed over a retaining wall at a nursing home in Fairfax, Virginia, Tuesday morning and had to be rescued from the car by firefighters.

The senior citizen appeared to have reversed over a garden retaining wall at a rehabilitation and nursing center on the 10700 block of Main Street. There's a drop of more than 10 feet between the parking lot and yard next to it.

The rear end of her dark sedan tipped over the wall, as the front end pointed into the air. Firefighters helped the woman out of the car.

"I'm sorry," she could be heard saying in a shaky voice, News4's David Culver said.

Fairfax County medics took the woman, who was not identified immediately, into an ambulance for an evaluation.

Information on the possible cause of the crash was not released immediately.
