Driver Ejected from I-270 Accident, Killed

One man was killed after his car overturned on Interstate 270 early Sunday, and he was ejected from the vehicle, according to Maryland State Police.

Authorities said they received a call about an overturned vehicle on the ramp from I-270 northbound to the exit for Middlebrook Road. When they arrived, they found the driver, Michael Stephen Bolton, 53, from Frederick County, Maryland, had been thrown from the vehicle about 50 yards from the car.

Bolton suffered extensive trauma to his head, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

A witness told police that the car, a white Suburu, was speeding along I-270 at about 80 mph and weaving “all over the road” before the crash. Investigators said no one else was in the car at the time.
