Car Goes Airborne Off Beltway Exit, Crashes on Road Below

A driver was killed after his car went airborne off D.C. beltway exit and crashed on the roadway below early Sunday morning.

Maryland State Police said the car was attempting to exit from the outer loop of Interstate 495 at Connecticut Avenue when it struck a bridge abutment. The car went airborne and landed on Kensington Parkway, ejecting the driver.

Jose Leonel Bonnilla Torres, 23, from Herndon, Virginia, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
