Proceeds from Astro Donuts & Fried Chicken's Blueberry Sour Cream Muffin Doughnuts will go to The Salvation Army,m the company tweeted Friday. The Salvation Army started National Doughnut Day in 1938 to honor their members who served doughnuts to soldiers in World War I. The Astro Donuts food truck will be in Farragut Square Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., according to the doughnut shop's website.
