Double Stabbing Near Wheaton Metro Station: Police

Two teenage boys were stabbed near the Wheaton Metro station Sunday afternoon, police said.

The stabbing happened about 3:15 p.m. in the area of the Wheaton bus station loop on Viers Mill Road in Silver Spring, Maryland, according to Montgomery County, Maryland, police and fire officials.

A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old were taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.

Capt. Paul Starks, a county police spokesman, said one suspect has been identified, and police are still looking for two others involved. Starks said the victims are conscious and talking to police.

Starks said detectives were trying to interview witnesses and checking on the availability of surveillance video.

The victims went to the west entrance of the Wheaton Metro station after being stabbed. That entrance was closed as police investigated. Rail and bus service was not affected.
