Detectives: Driver May Have Been Impared; Man Hit, Killed by Car

A man was hit and killed early Saturday morning in Montgomery County, and police believe the driver of the car that hit him may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Montgomery County police said a man was found in the road at the intersection of Goshen Road and East Village Drive in Montgomery Village, Maryland, shortly before 1:30 a.m.

The victim, identified as Osmin de Jesus Montano Carrillo, 35, of Montgomery Village, was taken to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, where he died.

Detectives found the driver and a Jetta on a nearby road they believed was involved in the incident. They said there was evidence that Helen Rommel, 18, of Laytonsville, Maryland, may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Rommel was taken into custody and provided a breath sample.
