7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Writer’s Center (4508 Walsh St., Bethesda, Maryland)

If you’ve ever studied Shakespeare’s iambic pentameter, you know poems can have a mathematical bent. Local mathematician-poet JoAnne Growney organized this panel to consider on-theme poems with multiple meanings.

There’s an open reading period, so you can even bring your own poems written in Pilish — A poetic language where each word in a poem matches the value of digits of pi.

The event is free and open to the public.
