New technology is about to make getting help for sexual assaults much easier in the District.
The city is getting set to launch its "Ask DC" app. All the resources to help sexual assault survivors will be in one place.
“The important piece for us is that everyone has a role, everyone can have an intervention, have the strategies necessary to intervene and to know accurately what that information is and what options are laid out for them,” Neil Irvin, executive director of Men Can Stop Rape told News4.
The app will connect to immediate medical help, police and a 24-hour support hotline. Victims can even get a free ride to a hospital from Uber.
It will also include specialized help for the military, deaf and LGBT communities.
All 33 life-saving resources will be available in English, Spanish and 26 Asian languages.
The "Ask DC" App is set to launch Wednesday.
