DC Streetcar Service Resumes After Overhead Wire Damaged

D.C. Streetcar service resumed Tuesday afternoon after an overhead wire, known as a catenary, was damaged between 14th and 15th streets NE, officials said.

Service was suspended for several hours while power to the streetcar system was shut down.

"The catenary accident was caused by a forklift operating with its boom up," D.C. Streetcar officials said on Twitter.

Crews have finished repairs, and service resumed about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.
