DC Street Sweeping Parking Restrictions Resume Thursday

From March 1 to October 31, look out for red and white parking restriction signs

Drivers who park on streets in D.C. should pay extra attention to signs as the city resumes street sweeping on Thursday.

Parking enforcement begins March 1 in zones labeled for street cleaning.

Before you park, look for red-and-white sweeping signs. In those neighborhoods, you'll have to alternate which side of the street you park on during sweeping hours.

In addition, overnight scheduled sweeping of D.C. major roadways happens year-round, weather permitting. Drivers should obey the signs when parking in those areas during posted overnight sweeping hours.

Anyone found parked in a street cleaning zone through October 31 could recieve a $45 ticket.

You can find more information on the D.C. Department of Public Works website.
