DC Officials Extend the Hours of Some Pools, Spray Parks

District of Columbia officials are extending the hours of some of the city's pools and spray parks because of the hot weather.

The Department of Parks and Recreation says that select spray parks and pools will stay open until 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Spray parks are normally open until 7 p.m. daily and outdoor pools until 6 p.m. on weekends.

Officials say the pools that will stay open are: Banneker Pool, Benning Park Pool, Fort Stanton Pool, Francis Pool, Langdon Park Pool, Rosedale Pool, Upshur Pool and Wilson Aquatic Center. Officials say 13 spray parks will also stay open.

The National Weather Service says the temperature at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport just outside the city hit 100 on Saturday.
