D.C. Police Officer Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Hit-and-Run

Prince George’s County Fire and EMS took a D.C. police officer to MedStar with life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run Tuesday evening.

The officer was stopped on his motor cycle near 46th and A streets in Southeast when he was struck by a white Lexus about 6:30 p.m., police said.

Police located the striking vehicle in the 4900 block of A Street SE and arrested three Southeast residents after canvassing the area.

Kevin Burno, 24, was charged with felony assault on a police officer. Antonio Parks, 22, and Darrin Twisdale, 25, were charged with obstruction of justice and possession of an open container of alcohol.

The officer, a member of the department since 2005, was in stable condition Wednesday evening and being treated for multiple injuries.
