DC Man Accused of Killing Neighbor He Suspected of Attempted Kidnapping of Stepdaughter: Sources

A D.C. man is accused of killing a neighbor, believing he tried to kidnap his stepdaughter, sources said.

Police arrested 28-year-old Justin Orlando Myrick May 10 and charged him with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Angelo Kadro Blakeney, whose body was found in the woods in Woodbridge, Virginia, April 29, according to Prince William County police.

A woman who lives in Myrick's Northeast D.C. neighborhood said she and her husband were sitting on their porch when they saw police two doors down.

“There were two police cars that pulled up and stopped, and then several plainclothes officers went up to the door and knocked hard and heavy and then went in,” she said.

Blakeney, who lives blocks away, was wanted by police for attempting to abduct Myrick’s stepdaughter, according to several law enforcement sources.

According to a police report, the young girl was walking her dog when Blakeney allegedly grabbed her by the hand and said, “Come with me into the woods.”

The girl escaped unharmed.

Days later, Blakeney was killed before police could make an arrest.

Blakeney's uncle said he does not believe his nephew tried to kidnap anyone.
