Kaine Calls for Weiner to Resign

Two days after Congressman Anthony Weiner bared himself publicly about his secret online
affairs, Virginia's Democratic candidate for Senate Tim Kaine said he should leave office.

"Lying is unforgivable, public lying about something like this is unforgivable," Kaine told Charlottesville station WCAV.  "He should resign."

A chorus of Republican lawmakers have called for Weiner's head this week, including House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who said the representative from New York should step down.

Kaine, who is the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is the first high-ranking Democrat to call for Weiner's resignation.  Nancy Pelosi, leader of the House Democrats, has called for an ethics probe into Weiner's lewd tweets and subsequent cover-up.

Weiner has been roasted in the national media after his tearful admission to electronic infidelity, and now old dirt has begun to surface.  A photographer caught Weiner driving around on D.C. streets with an expired registration sticker.  Earlier this year, the Congressman was outed for not paying his parking tickets in the District.
