At the halfway point of D.C.'s Potholepalooza (yes, that's its real name), D.C. officials say they've eclipsed the number of potholes filled during the entire 2012 campaign.
Workers filled 2,757 potholes during the first 14 working days of the 2013 campaign, according to the District Department of Transportation's website.
The department says officials filled a total of 2,443 potholes during last year's Potholepalooza.
During Potholepalooza, crews aim to fulfill pothole requests within 48 hours instead of their normal response time of 72 hours. This year's project -- the city's fifth annual -- began April 22 and ends May 22, giving the city two more weeks of work.
