A Northwest D.C. community center brought Christmas joy to children at its annual children’s holiday party Friday afternoon.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, Mary’s Center on Ontario Road NW distributed toys to more than 1,000 children -- with a little help from Santa, of course.
Santa will made a special appearance and children got to take pictures with him, receive a toy, make arts and crafts and enjoy light refreshments.
For nearly 30 years, Mary’s Center has collected new toys and donated them to children who would otherwise would go without during the holiday season.
Founded in 1988, the community center provides health care, education and social services to help build better futures for families.
