A woman out walking her dog near her home made a chilling discovery on Sunday.
An Edgewater resident discovered a hole in the ice of a pond near her house where a man had fallen in. Investigators have identified the man as Justin Paul Raddie, 28, of Gambrills, Maryland.
Around 11:30 a.m. Sunday, a woman was walking along a footpath that wound behind her house and passed several small ponds around near Riverton Place and Stepneys Lane.. Over the course of her walk, she noticed a pair of shoes by the shoreline of a pond. In the center of the pond the woman saw a hole in the ice.
The Edgewater woman immediately went to a nearby police station and reported her discovery.
Anne Arundel rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. Divers there found the body of a man in the water. The man, Raddie, was transported to Baltimore for autopsy.
