The accused Vince Young impostor may have been hanging with boxing champion Riddick Bowe in Georgetown, according to a new report.
The real Vince Young alerted the media yesterday that a man pretending to be him was making appearances around the D.C. area.
In the Examiner's gossip blog, Yeas and Nays, a photo ran of a man identified as Vince Young, hobnobbing at a party in Georgetown in early September. The party for local model Jana Sedlakova was attended by boxer Riddick Bowe, the blog says (no reports on Riddick Bowe impersonators yet).
But on Monday, the paper said the pudgy-faced man in the photo may not have been the Philadelphia Eagles third-string quarterback.
The Examiner wrote:
Before the real Vince Young came forward, we suspected that something fishy was going on when a man, again claiming to be Young, reached out to editors at the Washington Examiner early Monday morning asking that the posting and picture be removed from the website.
When a reporter tried to follow up with the caller, the number was disconnected, the paper said.
Was it Vince Young, or someone else? You can see the Examiner's picture here.
Meanwhile, Prince George's County Police said they met with a representative from the NFL and the NFL Players Association Tuesday morning and are working with the organizations regarding the impostor allegations.
County police, however, reiterated that no Prince George's County incidents have been filed. If there’s a claim, county police will look into it.
