Dallas Stars Outbreak Forces Two Changes to Capitals' Schedule

Following a COVID-19 outbreak within the Dallas Stars' locker room, including six players and two staff members testing positive for the virus, two Capitals games have been rescheduled by the NHL.

Washington's Feb. 21 game against the Rangers, which was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, will now take place at 5 p.m. the same night. Furthermore, the Caps' April 11 game against the Bruins will now take place a day early on April 10.

The Stars' outbreak before the season began has caused the team to push back its official regular-season start to Jan. 22. As a result, the league has had to make 10 more schedule changes in addition to the two that impact the Caps.

The Capitals got their season off on a positive note Thursday night with a 5-3 win over the Sabres on the road. They'll face off against the Sabres again Friday night before heading to Pittsburgh for a two-game set against the Penguins.

Washington is not scheduled to see the Stars during the regular season.
