Two current Metro Transit employees and one former employee have been arrested on theft and conspiracy charges.
Metro Transit Police made the arrests Wednesday, Metro spokesman Dan Stessel said.
A Prince George's County, Md., grand jury indictment accuses 50-year-old Alfred Atanga, a former Metro supervisor, of paying workers Empress Jacobs and Keesha Richardson for hours that they didn't work in Metro's customer service office. The three are charged with theft valued at an estimated $25,000.
Jacobs and Richardson have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
