Motorcycle Found in Creek in Montgomery County Was Stolen

Swift water rescuers searched for a rider of a motorcycle Monday night after the motorcycle was found in creek water, but Montgomery County Police have learned that the motorcycle was stolen, and no driver or body was found.

A passerby spotted the motorcycle Monday night in Seneca Creek off Darnestown Road.

Crews checked the water and along shorelines, said Montgomery County Fire & Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer. Boats were deployed and crews secured the motorcycle, which was going to be removed from the water, Piringer said on Monday night.

Police said Tuesday morning that the motorcycle had been stolen.
